Southwark Homesearch

This scheme provides grants to council tenants to buy a property on the open market in order to release their properties to relieve the overcrowding conditions of other Southwark council or Southwark housing association secure tenants.  

Vacancies created by this scheme will be clearly marked as being advertised ONLY for secure Southwark council and Southwark housing association tenants who are overcrowded. This means you are the person responsible for paying rent to Southwark council or to a Southwark housing association , are a secure tenant and are currently occupying a property that is too small for your calculated households need.  

Bids placed by applicants who do not meet this criteria will be discounted and will not be considered. Bids placed by secure tenants who are overcrowded but bid for properties with the same number of bedrooms as they currently occupy will also be discounted.
