Move in

When the bidding period closes on the Monday night, all bids are ‘shortlisted’ and ranked according to their priority. Customers can view their final queue positions on the Southwark Homesearch website.

The applicant highest on the shortlist, i.e. the one in the highest band with the earliest qualifying date in that band, will be offered the property.

We will invite these applicants to come and view the property with a member of our housing team. We will normally try and telephone on the Tuesday or Wednesday after the bidding closes to arrange for you to come on the Friday of that week or at some point during the following week.

Please note that you must provide us with your current telephone number and contact address or we may not be able to get in touch with you about your offer.

Move In We will usually invite two other households to come and look at the property at the same time – in case the people highest on the list decide not to accept their offer. If you are contacted by one of our housing team to come and view the property, they will make it clear if you are number 1, 2 or 3 on the list for the offer. If we are nominating you for a Housing Association property, they will usually only take one person at a time to view the property. For housing Co-Op's, this may vary.

It is important that you bring all the necessary documents when you come to view the property – if all the paperwork is in order we could even arrange for you to sign the tenancy agreement immediately! We will send you a letter with all the details after telephoning you.

If you need advice, you can talk to staff at the area housing office at the time of viewing.
